What is Apex Sports Academy?
Apex is an academic-athletic academy in Cochrane, Alberta, serving elite student-athletes in Grades 5–9. We combine rigorous, curriculum-aligned academics with sports development in a single daily schedule.
Is Apex a registered school?
Apex operates under Alberta's home education model. Parents are recognized as the legal home educators of their child and register with a homeschool board, and Apex delivers structured, curriculum-aligned academic programming aligned to the Alberta Program of Studies.
Is Apex an online program?
No. Apex is a fully in-person, hybrid academic-athletic program based in Cochrane, Alberta. We use technology as a tool to support learning, but the program itself is not delivered online. Students attend in person Monday through Friday.
What are Growth Labs?
Project-based units that build life skills like; leadership, financial literacy, communication, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving. Projects like Grit and Goal Setting, Sports Nutrition, Entrepreneurship, and a Travel Budget Project.
What does a typical day look like?
Monday–Thursday, full days; Friday mornings. Each day blends academic blocks with training blocks built around a consistent daily rhythm.
How many students are in a class?
Our cohorts are kept small and grouped by team, so students get individual attention while working at a pace appropriate to their grade level.
When is registration open for the 2027/28 school year?
Registration opens January 31st, 2027 and closes June 1st, 2027. We encourage families to register early, as space is limited.
What are the tuition and fees?
Tuition is $9,000 + GST annually, plus a $500 + GST supply fee. Families joining through a partner sports team qualify for a discounted rate. Ask us for current details.
Is there a waitlist?
Enrollment is limited, and spots fill based on availability. The earlier you reach out, the better we can plan for your child.
Do I need to be on a team to attend Apex?
No, Apex also enrolls student-athletes independently, outside of our team partnership, based on available space.
Can my child leave campus during the day?
It depends on their team or grade level and is outlined in our Parent Handbook once enrolled. Some students remain on campus all day; others have limited, permission-based off-campus privileges.
When can I register for the 2027/28 school year?
Registration opens January 31st 2027 and closes June 1, 2027.
What should I do if I'm interested in joining next year?
Reach out early. Space is limited, and registering within the January 31st- June 1, 2027 window gives us the best chance to plan a spot for your child.
